Daft Punk
Daft Punk are a French electro music duo from Paris, France. Daft Punk consists of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter.
Daft Punk make heavy use of voice vocoders in their songs. For example, on the song 'Around the World', a robotic voice is used saying "Around the World" in continuous chains. The phrase is the only 3 lyrics within the song and the phrase itself is said in the full length version of the song 144 times. The radio edit says the phrase 80 times. There are 2 versions of 'Around the World', the radio edit and the original version. The radio edit is 3:55 long whilst the album version is 7:08 long.
On 'Around the World', the bassline is very steady and the tune is written in E minor, with the bassline being played using the A dorian mode.
Daft Punk also released hits such as 'Get Lucky', 'One More Time' and 'Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger'.
