Dire Straits

Dire Straits were an English rock band from Deptford, England. Members of Dire Straits were Mark Knopfler (lead vocals and lead guitar), John Illsley, Pick Withers, David Knopfler, Alan Clark, Hal Lindes, Terry Williams, Guy Fletcher, Jack Sonni and Chris White. Mark Knopfler's younger brother David Knopfler played rhythm guitar and performed backing vocals for the band. Dire Straits' hits included 'Brothers In Arms', 'Sultans of Swing' and 'Money for Nothing'. The band disbanded in 1995.
